Below are the questions you'll answer every day this week.

  1. What am I grateful for?
  2. The most important thing of the day
  3. [optional] How did I feel and why?

Try writing 3 or more things you’re grateful for

What are you grateful for?

The most basic form of the gratitude journal. It helps us remember what we already have in life to enjoy it more. My first and favorite question.

The most important thing of the day

What was the most important story from today? People love stories. But most assume their lives are not stories worth saving.

Here comes the idea of saving one story a day.

Look for things that moved you emotionally. People connect over emotions.

How did I feel and why?

Introspection of your feelings helps you understand and use them. We all have feelings. Sometimes, we have no idea how they show up, yet they still affect our thoughts and actions. Here, you can spot the anomalies. The first step to fixing anything is realizing it is broken.

Gratitude journal - counter negative thoughts

Gratitude is a feeling that helped me battle my negativity.

We must have tools to counter negativity as we're biased toward it. Writing down your gratitude makes it more available to your brain. It gets easier to reach that with your memory. When you practice regularly, you start seeing the positive side of the world. Because there is no question if there is a positive side.

The question is, can you notice the good in the world?

And if you can't, a gratitude journal is a tool for you.
